Klaas and Karlien HauspieVerhamme already operate three broiler houses equipped with Big Dutchman technology very successfully. In Veurne, about an hour’s drive north-west of Bruges, the couple recently opened their fourth broiler house. Just like the other three houses, the new building has been fully equipped with systems from the German poultry equipment supplier. Around 150 visitors came to an open-house event to see the new poultry house.

“Contributing to the future of agriculture with a new broiler house” is the motto guiding the decisions of the HauspieVerhamme family. And because the future needs more than good intentions, the 112 m x 24 m large building contains a wide range of clever solutions:
Earny 2 heat exchanger: ensures a good environment in the house, saves energy and pays for itself quickly – without any subsidies. Earny can also clean the air! For Klaas and Karlien Hauspie-Verhamme, this is an investment in the future: enhanced welfare, healthier birds and a clear step towards more energy-efficient broiler production.
Vista 360 feed pan: the feed pan without grille makes access easy for the chicks from day one and keeps losses to a minimum. Good access, clever design – this is how broilers receive feed reliably. The highlight is the last two (of a total of five) lines, which are connected to the FlexVey feed conveying system via Y-pieces. This makes it possible to reduce the idle time of all lines by 20 % – without any additional feed sensors.
SiloCheck: measures the feed level in the silos using radar technology and is therefore extremely accurate. Farmers can keep an eye on their feed levels at all times, avoid shortages, and benefit from a technology that works reliably and makes the everyday life of broiler producers noticeably easier.
EasyCheck: the mobile, wireless bird scale simplifies weighing for farmers and reduces stress for the birds. The scale is very precise with an accuracy of more than 99 %. No wonder that EasyCheck received a medal at EuroTier 2024: an award for technology that really makes daily life in the poultry house easier.
Siesta: a perch with feelgood factor. Entirely made from plastic, easy to set up, to remove and to clean.
