Modular floor systems: because no pig house is like the other
Sow and piglets share the same space for quite a while. Their needs, however, could hardly be more different. While the sow wants a cool lying area, the newborn piglets easily get cold. But there is one requirement they have in common: the flooring must be non-slip and hygienic; clean and easy to keep that way, and free of germs. Being the only surface with which the pigs are in contact all day long, the flooring plays an important role in animal welfare, health, and performance and is often underestimated.
No pig house is like the other. Pen size, animal age, renovations, and so on: the reality on a farm does not meet any standards.
Big Dutchman has a solution nevertheless: a flexible and modular system that can be fitted to meet virtually any requirement, pen size and pen shape.
Mounting the floor system is a quick and easy process. The individual slats interlock perfectly, thus ensuring a high stability. Plastic slats can be cut to size in steps of 10 cm; heating plates for the piglets are easy to integrate. Retrofitting existing houses is also no problem.
