What a great success: on 8 May, APF Holdings opened two new layer houses with Big Dutchman equipment in Alūksne (German: Marienburg), Latvia. On three levels, the two houses have room for 125,000 birds each. Additionally, a production line for liquid eggs has been installed in a central warehouse. The total investment amounts to around EUR 13 million.

Poultry house inauguration: room for 250,000 laying hens in Latvia
Head of Region Ulf Meyer represented Big Dutchman at the inauguration. He says: “With this expansion, APF Holdings is increasing their annual production capacity by 60 % – a total of 180 million eggs. This strengthens the company’s position as one of the leading egg producers in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The production is fully powered by renewable energy, by the way.”
