It was a huge success: Recently, the Schedl family invited 4,000 visitors to an open house on their farm in Bärnau, Germany. The farm fest started with the inauguration of two new buildings for poultry growing. A total of 80,000 animals are housed in the buildings. The facilities contain Big Dutchman poultry housing systems, which guests learned about in detail during an informative tour. The program also included a diversified farmer's market with countless regional specialities, an agricultural technology exhibition and many attractions for young and old alike.

Transparent poultry growing

Bernhard Schedl farms 50 hectares of land, including about seven hectares for raising strawberries and a little more than a half hectare devoted to blueberries. In 2007, he moved from raising dairy cattle to poultry growing.

Thus, as a highlight, the Schedl family offered a live look at poultry growing. On view was the poultry house, erected in 2007, which the farmer had set up with plexiglass panels, so that guests could fully survey the feeding area. Two experts were available all day to provide complete answers to the public's questions.

Earny heat exchangers for the thrift-minded

Interest in poultry housing systems was also remarkable. Above all, the Big Dutchman Earny heat exchangers attracted poultry experts. And for good reason: During the cold season, a poultry house equipped with the Earny can save up to 60 percent on heating costs. A total of three versions can provide the right solution for any common size of poultry house.

They all have the same unique features: Compared to other heat exchangers, Earny is very compact, simple to install, and much easier to maintain. Unique compressed air technology makes it all possible. And the special aluminium exchanger element guarantees an amazingly high rate of heat transfer.
