Modern pig and poultry houses are equipped with an ever-growing degree of technology. Feed and water supply as well as climate control are increasingly automated. Installing technical devices for reliable monitoring and notification of problems is therefore an absolute necessity. This will enable farm managers to react instantly if problems arise and to prevent possible damage.
The AC Touch alarm device, especially, sets new standards regarding functionality and security requirements.
AC Touch

With the AC Touch alarm device, Big Dutchman introduces a new generation of alarm systems. Instead of a key, AC Touch is accessed by means of a fingerprint sensor. This ensures that changes to settings and acknowledged alarms can be traced back to the responsible person with absolute certainty; a great advantage, especially on farms with several employees.
The alarm device is easy to use thanks to a large and coloured, 10-inch or 7-inch display. All alarm inputs and functions are displayed clearly and can be easily adjusted. Another important feature is the “black box” data, which cannot be deleted and saves the information on all alarms and other activities.
- ten analogue or digital alarm inputs, e.g. temperature alarm, fire alarm, motor failure;
- all inputs are fail-safe either in case of wire breaks or short circuits, as an option;
- ten relay outputs actively switch on emergency fans or MultiStep groups, depending on temperature limits or alarm notifications;
- extension boxes for alarm inputs and relay outputs are available in steps of ten;
- the temperature is monitored by means of temperature profiles which can be preconfigured or set up individually;
- a temperature monitor registers both sudden temperature changes and temperatures below or above the absolute values with regard to the current outside temperature;
- up to 20 users with different levels of permission can be identified securely based on the fingerprint;
- alarms can be assigned to different phone numbers depending on responsibility;
- less important alarms can be muted for the night;
- trend curves of all alarms of the past 60 days can be displayed;
- the alarm memory of at least one year cannot be deleted;
- a phase failure monitor (optional) reports power failures;
- backup battery including monitoring of the battery status;
- automated test alarms;
- reminders for permanently deactivated inputs;
- integrated microphone to record alarm messages.
BFN Fusion app and BigFarmNet app
If you use our farm management systems BFN Fusion or BigFarmNet, all applications will send alarms as push notifications to your smartphone. You are thus always safeguarded, wherever you actually are, and able to react quickly to prevent damage.
The AC Touch alarm device can be remote-controlled for direct monitoring and control.
AC 3-T alarm device
simple, robust and easy to use
AC 3-T has a wide functional range and is equipped with a large battery having an extremely long life. This ensures its very high reliability, especially in regions where power failures are not uncommon.
AC 3-T consists of two housings so the operating unit does not require much space when installed in a control cabinet door. The second housing holds the battery and the phase monitor (optional) and can be mounted in the control cabinet. All relevant functions are structured very concisely and therefore very easy to use. The battery housing is ventilated. AC 3-T is fully independent and therefore does not communicate with the Big Dutchman farm management systems BFN Fusion and BigFarmNet.
- minimum and maximum temperature alarms can be set individually so alarms are generated if the temperature is above or below the set target values;
- two alarm inputs are available; one for the climate and production computer and one for phase monitoring and the protective motor switch of the control cabinet;
- three different backup thermostats switch on selected ventilation steps, e.g. if a climate controller fails;
- active battery monitoring ensures that the status of the battery is checked every two minutes;
- contacts of the backup relay remain switched on for up to six hours in case of a power failure;
- alarms can be switched off with the key inside the device until the issue has been solved;
- the integrated testing and reminder function guarantees that the alarm system alerts the farmer to adjust the minimum and maximum temperatures according to the age of the stock.
