Supplying large farms with feed – efficiently and hygienically
The global trend towards larger pig and poultry farms continues unabatedly. Big Dutchman has therefore introduced DR 6500: a high-capacity pipe conveying system for dry feed developed specifically for larger farm complexes. With a capacity of up to 6500 kg/h, the system is perfect for transporting larger amounts of cereals or feed. Due to its increased pipe diameter, DR 6500 is also ideally suited for the transport of roughage, such as straw.
One or more large main silos convey the feed quickly and reliably to the smaller day silos. Not every house must be equipped with a large feed storage silo, i.e. pig farmers save costs. Additionally, fresh feed is always available.
DR 6500 also comes with benefits regarding hygiene: since feed trucks no longer drive onto the farm premises, the risk of infectious diseases entering the farm together with a feed delivery decreases significantly.
Multi-phase feeding can easily be realised in combination with EcoMatic. This feed dispenser is volume-based so each silo on the farm can be filled with an individual feed mix. No other mixer or additional distribution unit is required.
