Uwe Heider new Member of Management Board
Uwe Heider from Vechta has been appointed Member of the Board of Management of Big Dutchman AG. The 43-year-old is a graduate in business studies and, as of 1 October 2004, will follow in the footsteps of Bo M. Molin who, up until now, has been board member in charge of sales and marketing for the world market leader for housing and feeding equipment from Vechta-Calveslage, Germany.
„With Uwe Heider we have won a highly-qualified marketing specialist with agricultural experience for the Big Dutchman Group“ says Chairman of the Supervisory Board Josef Meerpohl. „I am furthermore very pleased that Bo Molin is going to continue to support us with his experience and advice.“
Even though the 67-year-old Swede is officially retiring from the Board of Management, he will continue to work in the daily business as an advisor for the China business that he built up, as well as for other projects. Thus, there is going to be a fluent handing-over.
Until recently, Uwe Heider was the solely responsible Managing Director of AWE Agrarhandel Weser-Ems GmbH & Co KG in Varel, Germany. Before that, he worked as Sales Manager for National Starch & Chemical GmbH, subsequently as Marketing Director for Beiersdorf AG in Hamburg and thereafter as Managing Director for the Schmees Group in Twistringen.
The Board of Management of Big Dutchman AG is now composed as follows: Bernd Meerpohl (Sales & Development), Uwe Heider (Sales & Marketing), Warren Stuk (Sales/USA), Kai Wehmeyer (Finances, Administration & Logistics).
For many years now, Big Dutchman AG has been regarded as world market leader in the development and distribution of housing equipment and feeding systems for modern pig and poultry management.
The delivery range of the innovative family business includes traditional installations, as well as computer-controlled feeding systems and equipment for climate-control and exhaust air cleaning systems. The scope of supply and services ranges from the build-up of small farms up to the construction of fully-integrated farm businesses. Big Dutchman AG offers its customers every possible option - from planning to taking into operation.
The history of Big Dutchman reaches back to the year 1938 when the company founders invented the world’s first automatic feeder in the USA. Today, the company's headquarter is located in Vechta-Calveslage, Germany, where more than 300 of the approximately 1,000 employees worldwide work. The reliable systems of the well-established German business are successfully used in more than 100 countries on all five continents.
The Big Dutchman Group will have a turnover of approximately 250 million euros in the current financial year. 90% of the sales volume is achieved on markets outside of Germany.
