Air cleaning: Porcus air scrubber – a complete system that is ready to be connected

Do you want to keep pigs without being a nuisance to the environment? With the new Porcus air scrubber, Big Dutchman has developed the ideal solution to significantly reduce emissions and create optimal air conditions in both small and large barns. The prefabricated air scrubber is available in a biological and a chemical version as well as in a wide range of module sizes. The modules can be delivered anywhere in the world because they always fit in a 40-foot container. 

The biological Porcus scrubber removes up to 70 percent of ammonia, 45 to 70 percent of odour and 60 percent of particulate matter. There is no untreated gas perceptible in the clean gas; the odour concentration amounts to less than 300 OU/m³. With the chemical version, separation rates are 70 to 90 percent for ammonia, 30 percent for odour and 35 percent for particulate matter.

The air scrubber is built in a robust plastic housing and connected to the pig house via a pressure chamber. The air enters the front of the scrubber and moves upwards through the horizontal washing bed, where it is intensively rinsed from above using a sprinkler system. 

Porcus is fitted with a room in which all technical components are mounted. This makes on-site installation as quick and easy as possible and especially cost-efficient. 

The process water recirculates until it reaches a certain pollution level. Part of the water is then pumped to the waste water tank and clean water is added back into the process. All measuring processes, valves and controls are fully automated to make operation easier and to achieve optimal performance.
